How Can You Hypnotize Someone with Covert Hypnosis?

Believe it or not you can hypnotize someone simply through conversational techniques. This is called conversational or covert hypnosis. It works by establishing rapport with your subject and then using verbal and non-verbal cues to plant the suggestion you want. Your listener will get so caught up in the moment that they will agree with what you are saying even if it is out of character for them.

Covert hypnosis is just one method you can use to hypnotize someone. The principles of convert hypnosis were first explored by Milton Erikson, a renowned hypnotherapist. He believed that people routinely fall into hypnotic trances on their own. For example, your mind may fall into a trance while waiting in a line or concentrating very hard on something. You may think this is just your mind wandering off a bit. Erickson believed he could take advantage of the mind falling into a trance on it’s own. He also believed direct suggestions or overtly trying to hypnotize someone would be met with resistance. Instead he used conversational techniques to build rapport, make indirect suggestions and induce compliance in his subjects.

As you can imaging this is only a brief outline of how covert hypnosis can be used to hypnotize someone. There are several facets and techniques you need to learn to be effective. The good news is that you can learn these techniques and start using them to hypnotize someone right away. As you learn more and practice, you’ll quickly be able to get people to do what you want.

Can You Hypnotize Someone to Sleep with You?

If you look around the internet for information to hypnotize someone, one of the most common reason people want to learn hypnotism is to get someone in bed. Unfortunately for those people (and fortunately for their dates), it isn’t possible.

Most people think you have complete control when you hypnotize someone. What they don’t understand is that they are simply accessing a person’s subconscious when it is in a heightened sense of awareness. The per son is technically still awake. What’s more, their morals and sense of safety are still perfectly intact. That means it’s impossible to make them do something they would regret later or not do when they are not hypnotized.

So is hypnotism completely worthless with the opposite sex? If you use the techniques to hypnotise someone correctly and don’t expect them to do something they normally wouldn’t, the answer is that hypnotism can still be very useful. You may be wondering how that’s possible.

It’s possible by using conversational hypnosis. With these techniques, you’ll learn to build rapport and then recognize subliminal triggers and flags the other person gives off without even realizing it. The key to this is building rapport and making the subject comfortable. If someone has their guard up, you’re not going to get anywhere with or without hypnosis! In order for this to work, you need to be confident and natural. If you come across like you have an agenda, your subject will pick up on that and the walls will go up.

Once you’ve build rapport and your subject is relaxed, you can then use words and phrases that encourages the subject’s mind to shut down and become more receptive to suggestions and statements. While this may not get the object of your affection into your bed, it can help you to get that second date!

Posted on 4th September 2008 by admin in hypnotize someone - Tags:

You may want to learn to hypnotize someone just for fun, but apparently celebrities have other uses for hypnotism. Recently the UK’s My Park Magazine did a story about Courtney Love and her daughter’s 16th birthday. You may be thinking she hired a hypnotist as the entertainment! Not so! Courtney was was wearing the dress Angelica Huston used in “The Addams Family” movie. Apparently Courtney revealed that she’s seeing a hypnotist to help her control her weight. Courtney used the old fashioned method of dieting last year to lose weight but had trouble staying disciplined. She now uses hypnosis to stay thin and goes in for “tune ups” whenever she starts to feel her resolve weakening.

What to Expect When You Hypnotize Someone

If you want to hypnotize someone thinking you’ll have complete control over them, you’re going to be very disappointed! If you’ve every seen someone hypnotized, its easy to think the subject is under the hypnotist’s complete control. In reality, the subject has absolute free will and control over what they will or won’t do.

So what is hypnotism? It’s actually a trance state with a hightened state of suggestibility, imagination and relaxation. Although the person appears to be asleep, they are actually awake and alert. The subject is fully conscious but has tuned out surrounding stimuli.

Have you ever gotten in your car to go to work, zoned out and suddenly looked up and you were at your office? If so, you were in a hypnotic trance. Hypnotic trances can actually occur on a daily basis. If you’ve ever gotten caught up in a book or movie where you’re not aware of what is going on around you, this is also a hypnotic trance.

Unlike this self-hypnosis, when you hypnotize someone with conventional hypnosis the person accepts suggestions as if they are his or her own ideas. You may have seen comedy shows where the hypnotist hypmnotizes someone to cluck like a chicken. That person then starts acting like a chicken. The theory is the subject has tuned out worries, doubts and inhibitions that would normally hinder them from acting like this. That being said, even in the hypnotic trance the subject will know the suggestions are imaginary. Most importantly, the subjects sense of safety and their morals will remain intact. You can’t get someone to do something they don’t want to do or hurt themselves!

As previously noted, hypnosis bypasses the conscious mind when you hypnotize someone. The conscious mind is the “filter” for inhibitions. The subconscious mind is where imagination and implusiveness reside. Since the conscious mind is out of the way when you hypnotize someone, they are more willing to do something that the conscious mind would normally say “no way” to.

Now that you know how it works when you hypnotize someone, treat this with care. Since you have access to the subconscious mind, suggestions should just be to play with your subject and get them to do funny things.
